Document Translation

There are many different types of documents that you may have in your possession that will never need to be translated, such as your birth certificate, your marriage certificate, your degree, diploma or certificate qualifications unless you decide to move overseas and live and work in another country. The immigration authorities of most countries will want you to get a document translation of all these if the language of your host country is different from the language of your original documents.

In most cases you are not permitted to perform your own document translation services and will need to look for an experienced document translator who has experience with the type of document translation you are seeking. One document you are never asked to translate is your passport as todays immigration authorities have the technology to identify if a passport is a genuine document or a forgery.

It's important that all the features on the document are translated; otherwise, the translation will not be considered accurate. If parts of a document are unreadable because it is old or has been damaged the translator must make a note on the translation that certain words were not legible and had to be excluded from the translation.

If you need your document translation certified, you will need a translator who is competent to undertake the translation of the documents and is prepared to write a statement that is  signed which indicates that it is a true and accurate translation.
